As a child, I watched my mom struggle to maintain a job. She was not able to commit to a full-time work schedule because my sister was a paraplegic and required many surgeries and hospital stays. We had great family support, but I remember having a fear that we would become homeless. Looking back, I see that would have never happened with my family’s help that surrounded us. However, while my mom had the support that allowed us to not live in want or need, I know that many women and children do not.

About Karen Powers
Karen Powers, founder of Judy’s Hope Foundation, is married to Bryce Powers, owner of Providence Builders, LLC. Bryce and Karen have twins, Isaac and Abby. Karen has helped Bryce with his construction business from the founding days and continues to work with him and his team. Bryce, Karen, Isaac and Abby are members of First Baptist Church in downtown Clarksville, TN. When a friend reminded Karen that one person can make a huge difference, the passion to help women and children pushed her forward to investigate the needs of the local community. Through prayer and research, God led Karen to the vision of Judy’s Hope Foundation. Due in large part to the support of Biker’s Who Care, Mayor Joe Pitts and the City Council, Bryce and Karen were able to acquire the property on S. Second Street. Bryce and Karen are so very grateful for the support of the community, friends and family members. It is only by strong support and God’s grace that the vision to open doors to a future and a hope for women and children will come to fruition.
