“When I found Judy’s Hope, I was a lady down on her luck. Before this time, I once had it all: a husband, three daughters, gainfully employed with a promising future. Then, one day, life as I knew it all came crashing down, and it seemed as if it had happened all at once. My oldest daughter passed away, and my abusive relationship had gotten the best of me. Scared, tired, and grief-stricken, I ran away from my abuser and found myself near homeless. It was at this time that I reached out to Judy’s Hope, and to my surprise, Judy’s Hope reached back. Within a couple of weeks, Judy’s Hope placed me in one of their tiny houses and gave me sanctuary. Everything I needed was provided in that home, and I wanted for nothing. I felt so very fortunate and could not imagine that there would be more, but there was much more.
My journey at Judy’s Hope community changed my life forever. In essence, the organization saved me from being homeless, but it is how they went about it that makes them special. While living at Judy’s Hope, I had the pleasure of being part of a community of Christians who loved and respected one another. I experienced a miraculous amount of giving, from clothing, food, Christian teachings, and fellowship.
Judy’s Hope treated me with dignity and respect and made me feel loved again. At the end of every day, I felt Joy where there once was pain. There is no better gift than that of Joy and Love.
I will soon graduate from Judy’s Hope and leave, but it is not without a heavy heart, for I have come to Love this place, named Judy’s Hope, and all who made it so very great, from the staff to the donors and the volunteers.
It has now become my dream to be a part of such an organization as this and pay it forward. Thank you, Judy’s Hope, for all that you are and for all you have done for me; you will never be forgotten.”
